After many rehearsals, it was finally time for the first ballet performance of 2013! We were going to watch the Friday night performance, then there was also a Saturday matinee and Saturday night performance. Zoe was so excited that it was finally time to get on stage with an audience watching!
Zoe's class were part of the 'Bottom of the Garden' and were all dressing up as fish. The material for it was a very reasonable price, but getting a dressmaker to make it was VERY expensive this year as it was so involved. Zoe didn't mind what she wore as long as she got to dance :)
Putting Zoe's hair in plaits. One bonus with being a fish is that it didn't matter how we did their hair as long as it was all back out of the way as they wore hoods.
Caking on the makeup. Zoe loved every step of this process! The foundation needed to be a couple shades darker than their skin so it looked very caked on!
Eye Shadow
Mascara
Blush
Lipstick - not the easiest thing to put on a little person!
Tah-Dah!! Makeup that can now be seen on stage.
We gave Zoe a little ballerina figurine to celebrate her second concert (or maybe I just found a really cute figurine that I had to give her!) We told her we were very proud of her for trying her best with her dancing and we couldn't wait to see her on stage :)
The most beautiful fish in the world xo
Zoe was really confident going on stage. There were no nerves at all and she just went with the flow and did what she had to do. There were no proud ugly tears from me this year, just a huge smile right across my face while I watched a piece of my heart dancing up on the stage. Zoe was trying to look out into the audience to find our faces again this year but didn't catch us while she was dancing around :) I'm so happy that she enjoys doing ballet and has some nice little friends in her class.
