Taiwan Picnic

28TH OCTOBER 2013

Two staff members from Christian Salvation Service (CSS), the agency we adopted Zoe from in Taiwan, came over to Australia to meet with departments in different states. Victoria ICAS organised a picnic for all the Taiwan adoptees and their families in Melbourne. It was a long way to drive for a few hours, but it was more than worth it. As the Taiwan program only started up again five years ago (Zoe was the first to be adopted from Taiwan in Victoria in 11 years) we aren't a big group and there isn't big adoptive family get togethers like there is with Korea. We had to jump at the chance to attend something Taiwanese, for Zoe's sake as well as ours.

Seb was over the moon that his Korean mate Toby came along with his sister and Mum.

Seb having a ride of a pony at the farm where the picnic was held.

Toby's little sister Hannah. Their family is very special to us, as we met them during our travel information night for Korea. They had just been allocated Toby, and we were allocated Seb soon after. We also travelled the journey to our girls from Taiwan together.

All the kids loved getting to cuddle with all the bunny rabbits and guinea pigs. I had quite a few scratches on my hands after handling a few!

Two handsome boys together.

Here's another one, just because they're so cute :)

Our family, with Agnes & Jenny. Agnes remembers Zoe from the nursery in Taiwan. They were so happy to see the kids so happy and healthy with their forever families. We really hope to be able to travel to Korea & Taiwan in five or so years. Both kids have been begging to go visit their homelands but we'd like to wait till they're a bit older so they can take everything in (and give us some time to save some money!).

All of these families have been blessed with Taiwan princes and princesses (plus two with handsome Korean boys!). We are all very grateful to Taiwan and it holds a special place in all our hearts.
