The Year 1 & 2's had a 'Mildura Day' at school. They have been learning about different aspects of local history and today was a special day to celebrate that. Apparently back on this day in 1887, brothers George & William Chaffey officially signed an indenture with the Victorian Government that formalised Mildura as Australia's first irrigation colony. Today is the 125th anniversay of that signing. So there you go, a bit of history for you!
The kids had to dress up as something that reminded them of Mildura. Seeing as we had a pair of overalls in the cupboard that fit, Seb went as a blockie, complete with work boots and a Cat hat. I asked Seb to give me a couple of blockie poses and this is what he gave me:
