Yesterday we got a puppy from the pound. Seb had no idea we were about to get a dog so we wanted to surprise him after school. As soon as we (mostly me at the time actually!) saw her we knew this was the one for us!
This little one is 8-10 weeks old and is a cross between a border collie and a kelpie. She is one of eight puppies, so she has 6 brothers and 1 sister. She is the runt of the litter and was the most mellow one, and slept in the middle of the bed with all her siblings snuggled around her.
I was itching to have a play with our new puppy after bringing her home just after lunchtime, but she stayed this way for over two hours! I was happy she was nice and cozy in her new bed but it wasn't much fun for me!
She finally woke up and I got to have a little play before Seb got home from school. In this picture you can just see the very end of her tail has a white tip :)
I was SO excited for Seb to come home and see our new puppy. As he came around the corner and saw what I was holding, he stopped dead in his tracks as he tried to take in what was going on. He couldn't quite believe we had a brand new puppy. I asked him this morning what he was thinking when he first saw the puppy and he said he thought it was Molly. Sweet boy still misses his old puppy and this new little one looks similar to Molly, especially being black and all. The sadness didn't last long, especially when he had a cute little puppy right in front of him!
It was up to Seb to name the new family puppy (Seb is going to be the Master who feeds and teaches the puppy things). There were a few suggestions thrown around, but Seb decided on the name Snowy seeing as it looks like she's just walked through snow with her white speckled paws.
Here they are getting to know each other :)
Snowy could hardly move yesterday without 'guidance'.
Makes me so happy to see Seb with a puppy again.
After 45 minutes of full on playing, Snowy curled up on the grass and went fast asleep. She is such a cuddly puppy and would sit on your knee the whole day if given half the chance.
We'll always remember the day we got Snowy as it was our 15th Wedding Anniversary yesterday :)
Welcome to the family snowy!
