We got to pick up our 'little' Milly dog today! I say 'little' in jest as she's as round as a barrell!! Milly is the biggest of her litter and apparently a bit of a bully with her siblings! Looks like her sisters and brother tried to get their own back as the collar we'd given her just a week ago looks very dirty and chewed on now :) Milly is such a cute little munchkin and it's so nice to see a healthy dog run around being silly and inquisitive just like a puppy should. The kids are so happy to have a puppy again, even though we aren't able to bring her home yet after our last puppy, Snowy, had parvovirus and our ground is contaminated. Can't wait to have Milly fully vaccinated so we can bring her home! We are so thankful to my parents who are going to be dog sitters for a couple of months. We will be visiting a lot especially to play with Milly!
Smiley kids playing with their new puppy.
Dad has set up a little yard for Milly, and has even given up some of his shed and made a space for Milly's kennel and her food so she won't get too cold when she's sleeping :) Milly is already walking around like she owns the place, and quite often wonders in for a feed or a drink.
Seb thought Milly needed a towel over the front of the kennel to keep her warm while she napped and to keep the light out. It worked - she had a big long sleep with it like this.
Hope Milly is ready for lots of cuddles and attention from these two!
Milly being a snuggle pie :) She starts grunting a bit and nuzzles in for a cuddle. Probably lucky she isn't at our house yet or I'd get nothing done! Puppy cuddles all day sounds nice :)
We bought Milly a cheap little coat to help keep her warm overnight. It actually says 'Personal Trainer' on it which I find amusing considering her ample size! As you can tell by this photo, she wasn't impressed by it at all! She found it hard to walk to start off with and was going sideways which was hilarious to watch!
Thanks Mum & Dad for looking after her - I'm sure she'll be just as spoiled at your house as she would be if she were home with us!
(Seb was the one who came up with Milly's name. We left it to him to make suggestions, and we thought he found the perfect one with Milly. He said he likes that name as it reminds him of Molly, our dog we had for 12 years.)
