Day 2 in Korea

This morning we met with Mrs Lee, Seb's foster mum. Just seeing her walk towards the room brought tears to my eyes as I remembered all those years ago when she handed Seb to us for the very first time. Seb just loved Mrs Lee, who also brought along her son, Seb's foster brother. It was very special to see the both of them. Mrs Lee kept running her hands over Seb's face and giving him cuddles. It's great to know that Seb still holds a special place in her heart.
Mrs Lee has fostered 30 babies, and we were the 5th family to come back to visit with her. She mostly fostered girls though so she remembers Seb quite well, saying that he was a calm baby (which he was - it's just that you wouldn't know it now!). Just meeting with Mrs Lee and her son make this whole trip to Korea worthwhile.

Mrs Lee was full of cuddles for Seb which brought tears to my eyes. She sung him a couple of lullabys that she used to sing to him as a baby.

After our meeting with Mrs Lee, we met with the president of ESWS, Ms Kim. After that we met with the man I wanted to see - Dr Kim Snr. He is roughly 95 years old and is the founder of ESWS. He still goes into work each day and says a prayer for all the babies as they go home with their new families. He is a very special man who has a presence about him that you can feel as soon as you enter the room. Seb was getting a bit restless before our meeting, but in Dr Kim's office he sat really still and listened to everything he had to say. Dr Kim told Seb that he prayed for him every day since he left Korea as a baby and that seeing him today had made him very happy. Dr Kim got quite emotional in his talk with Seb. He cares for every single baby in Korea and it really shows. He is such a caring man and has done so much for Korea's children.
He holds a special place in my heart as he also reminds me of my Pop.

We had lunch at ESWS with Ms Kim which was quite nice although I didn't eat everything on my plate :) We braved the monsoon rain and headed out to Namdaemun Market to do a bit of shopping. Our feet were really squelching by the time we got home. Seb and I will have to wear alternate shoes tomorrow as the ones we wore today are still soaking wet!
