Zoe's 1st kinder excursion

On the lead-up to today, Zoe kept on asking if I was going to stay for the whole morning at kinder. She was very excited to be sharing her kinder morning with me. Today we went on the bus to Red Cliffs, had morning tea and a play at the park, then went on a ride on the steam train before travelling back to kinder on the bus again.

Sitting waiting to go on her very first bus ride.

At the park in Red Cliffs having morning tea under the shade of some big trees. It was a warm 28 degrees today, so it was perfect weather to go on an outing.

Having a ball on the playground.

Waiting for the ride on the steam train to start - once again her very first ride on one.

Looking out of the train.

At the end of the track, we watched the engine carriage come off and turn around to attach onto the other end of the train for the return ride home. Zoe didn't really like it when they tooted!

Zoe had a ball on the train. They have big stuffed animals sitting in the trees to make the ride even more enjoyable for the kids. Zoe was laughing saying that the animals were scaring her. We would both give a little scream whenever we saw a new animal approach.

Me trying to take a photo of the train going around a corner, with the assistant teacher trying to photo bomb!!

Zoe was so happy when her best friend at kinder arrived late - she was worried she was going to miss out. Zoe and Indi have formed a nice little friendship over the past few months.

My dear little Zoe, all pooped out. She was practically snoring on the ride home on the bus. The other mums were wondering how that could get their kids to do the same!

One of the best things about today was having a chat with Janelle, the teacher. She said that Zoe is like a different kid to the one who started kinder. She said Zoe now comes up to her to ask questions or to tell her something, and has also come up and sat on her lap. Right up till the middle of the year, Zoe wouldn't even say hello to the teachers so she has come a long way. Janelle said it's like a switch has been turned on or she's figured out the teachers aren't that bad after all! People do have to work hard for Zoe's affection sometimes, but once you've got it, you certainly know about it and you get to know our sweet little girl.
