Book Week

Seb was very excited about book week. Not anything to do with the special activities throughout the week, and certainly not because of the dressup day, but because he got to spend money at the book fair in their library. I gave him some money on Tuesday to get a book, and every day after that he would sift through his own money and take some to school to make another purchase!

On Friday, the kids could dressup as a character from a book, a fairytale, or as someone from a different culture. My dear sweet Seb was very uneasy about wearing his hanbok as he said he was embarrassed and worried that the kids would make fun of him :( We talked up his hanbok all week, saying that we were so proud that he was Korean and that he should feel proud too. All of that talk helped as he put on his hanbok Friday morning without too much complaining. There was definitely some whining, but he was as happy as Larry when he got to school.

Zoe dressed in her Cheongsam for the day as well. She was calling herself a pink princess and was happy to twirl around for anyone. After I got her dressed I said, 'There you go my Taiwan girl', to which she replied 'Thank you Australia Mummy'.
Seb with his cousin Addie, who was dressed as Fancy Nancy. I loved her outfit, plus she had the attitude to boot, so that made it even better!

Can you spot Seb? He's second from the right. His class was led by Little Red Riding Hood

Seb having fun at the parade.

Looks like Seb is being escorting by his security detail!

Addie loving the stage. She would have been up there all day if she was able!!
