We headed to Melbourne on 6th June REALLY early in the morning hoping we'd be able to submit our immigration documents that day. The dept still hadn't heard from CSS about our court case, but we thought we'd risk it and head to Melb early just in case. Considering it was a long weekend we were hoping to get it done on the Friday and not have to wait till Tuesday.
Long story short, we got a phone call at 9.15 from our dept when we were halfway to Melbourne saying our court hearing went ahead in Taiwan as scheduled on Wed, and we were able to complete our paperwork for Dept of Immigration. Yippeeeee!!!!!
Sometimes the wait at Dept of Immigration is really long, but when we got to the front of the queue (where they usually give you a ticket to join another really long queue!), the lady said that she would do us a favour and sent us upstairs where we only had to wait 5 minutes to get our all-important reciept!
Things are going so smoothly at the moment - we hope they continue in this way and we get a quick travel date! Today I will courier the Immigration documents to Taiwan so they can start organising Zoe's visa.
We could still be waiting another 3.5 months until we travel, but I am praying it's a whole lot closer to 2 months!
After our rushing around in Melbourne (Seb was an angel by the way. We couldn't have asked for him to be better behaved) we headed back to Bendigo to spend a lovely few days with Glen, Tamara and Noah in their beautiful new house. I'll post some photos etc of our weekend later today.
